OBJECTIVES
The one-year Master of Theology (Th.M.) program, directed by Francine Cardman, provides students who already hold the M.Div. degree with an opportunity to deepen their theological and/or ministerial expertise. It is especially suited to Jesuits and other candidates for ordination in their fourth year of theological studies, as well as to those with ministerial experience wishing to further their theological education.
Students choose between two options. Option A is geared toward theological research in a particular area and culminates in a thesis written under the direction of a faculty mentor. Option B aims at developing advanced understanding and pastoral competence in a particular form of Church ministry through a program of course work and professional ministry practica developed in collaboration with the Program Director, Faculty Advisor, and the Professor of Contextual Education.
