Studying theology is one thing, communicating what you learn to the world is another. Theological writing is an art all its own. Some of the great written works of the world are theological tracts of profound content and style. Theology is not only study but craft, communicating complex issues in a way that inspires as well as informs.
Writing theology requires knowledge of a particular vocabulary and treatment of language not familiar to all students. Originally intended to help international students with research paper development, the WRITE Program is available to all students who want to hone their writing and research skills as theologians. Semester-long WRITE classes are oriented around the written work being done in your class and your academic goals for joining WRITE.
The WRITE Program has an international, as well as ecumenical feel. It is sponsored by both Weston Jesuit and Episcopal Divinity School, and taught by Dr. Lucretia Yaghjian. All WRITE courses are supplementary, non-credit classes that are offered on a pass/fail basis.
